HOMOEOPATHY- A Therapeutic approach

Importance of Follow-Up

After seeing a homeopath, one goes through a very detailed session of case taking. It’s a healing session too, where the homeopath will try to understand all about your complaints, associated complaints, your current medications, how the current complaints are influencing your life, and thus how is your state of changed self since you noticed that you are not the way, you use to be earlier.

Post this session a medicine is given to you after detailed study of all the characteristic symptoms.

It takes years of dedicated study in homeopathy and a good training in clinical applications that makes a good prescriber.

Patients’ cooperation in taking the medicines regularly, with dos n dons of diet and exercise gives very good outcome.

This needs to be studied at every follow ups.

Follow ups for at least 1 year gives a good opportunity to heal all the issues in the case. If any acutes comes up in the course of treatment those are dealt well with homeopathic medicine. At every follow up you will be asked about the intensity and frequency of your local complaints, about your general health, and any specific thing that needs attention.

Following points are considered in follow ups:

  1. How is the person in comparison if first visit?
  2. Was he/she helped?
  3. What is not helped?
  4. Causes for what has not helped need to accessed.
  5. If any condition came up that is delaying the recovery is studied and remedied.
  6. If there need to be change in remedy, change in potency needs to be accessed.
  7. Clinically if there is any pathology that is not allowing the recovery needs to be studied.
  8. Is the disease progressing to deeper layers needs to be accessed.
  9. Is it that medicine worked very well and patient was so much better that follow ups are missed.
  10. Sometimes disease has pathogy and thus only palliation is needed.
  11. Sensitivity of patients is studied for changes in potencies.
  12. Over view is needed, to do the needful investigation in time.

With experience I personally tell patients the importance of follow up, for right steps need to be taken as per the state of patient.

With regular follow ups patients get helped in addressing their pressing issues and general health can be restored.

Dr. Kent an American homeopath has stressed importance of follow up as Kent’s 12 observations.

Thus, knowing the importance of follow up can be very insightful for both the healer and the patient.
